What to expect from your Microblading appointment?
I get asked a lot about the Microblading process and what actually happens during your Microblading appointment, so I thought I'd spend some time to talk you through it and answer all your questions.
Prior to any beauty treatment, you would of had a patch test and consultation. The patch test will determine whether you have an allergy to any of the products used and whether we are able to carry out your chosen treatment. If the patch test indicates you have an allergy to any of the products, then we cannot proceed with your chosen beauty treatment. If you haven't had any reaction, then your appointment can go ahead as planned. Please read my previous post on patch testing for more information.
You will turn up to your appointment, make up free and ready to go. We will confirm that all your medical information is up to date and doesn't affect your ability to have the procedure. We can then discuss the size and colour of the brows that will be best suited to you and your face shape. Once this is completed, its time to jump on the bed!
I then will clean and sterilize the brow area, ready for the treatment. After this I then begin the mapping process, determining the best shape for your brows based on your natural bone structure. For me, this is the most important part of your appointment and the part that can take the most time. Once the brows have been mapped, I get you to sit up and have a look at the shape and the size of the brows and double check you're 100% happy with them before we do any Microblading. If, for whatever reason, you're not happy with the way your brows have been mapped out, then please tell me there and then and we can tweak the shape until you are. Like I said, this is the most important part and if you're not happy at this stage, then you definitely won't be happy with the end result.
Perfect mapping = Perfect brows = Happy client.
Once you confirm to me you're happy, then the procedure can begin. Firstly, I use a topical anesthetic on and around the brow area for your comfort. I then use a small blade and a pigment, especially chosen for you and then create small hair like strokes in amongst your natural brows. I complete one pass and then a second, to add further colour and depth to the strokes. Depending on how well the second pass goes in, a third and sometimes a fourth pass may be required. Once enough pigment is placed into the skin, I then add a pigment mask over your brows to give them one last boost of colour. After a few minutes, these then get cleaned up and your brows are complete!!
So there you have it, the secret to your microblading appointment so you no longer have to worry about what to expect or have the fear of the unknown.
